Laxmanpur Dam Affected Struggle Committee and Inter Party Network delegation

Laxmanpur Dam Affected Struggle Committee continues to draw attention of the state to solve the problems they have been facing since long time. The delegation team has visited the Prime Minister, Minister for Forest and Soil Conservation, Minister for Irrigation, Vice-Chairperson of National Planning Commission in May 2014 to solve the issue as soon as possible. Documentary on Laxmanpur dam and its effects on the life and livelihood was displayed.

Addressing the issues raised by the struggle committee, the Prime Minister stated that he has given utmost priority on the issue. Special instruction was circulated to line ministers and National Planning Commission for immediate action.

Minister for irrigation updated the delegation team that additional NRs. 5 Crore has been allocated for the ongoing permanent embankment at Holiya VDC of Banke.
